Angela Evelyn Bassett has been an American actress since late 1980s. Known for her work in television and in film from the mid-80s onwards, she has received various accolades including two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett born in Winston-Salem North Carolina by her aunt after being born in New York New York, is a well-known actor. Bassett and her sister, aged five, old, made the move out of New York and into St. Petersburg to live with their mother, who was the divorced father. Bassett was in high school when was able to see James Earl Jones staring John Steinbeck play Of Mice and Men and knew that her dream to become an actor been realized. The year was 1980 and Bassett graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut with the degree of African American studies. She was also awarded a degree by The Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance met her at Yale In 1997, they got married. Qualification: B.A. graduated from the Yale School of Drama School with a master's of African American studies in 1980.
